Armor
Armor is the ultimate expression of presence in anime character design. As you'd expect, there are all kinds of armor from the futuristic glowing armor of mecha pilots to the heavy, battle-worn armor of knights in dark fantasy settings in the middle ages. It's a design aesthetic that really lets the creator show off, especially if they're good at using crisp lines to depict the armor pieces and the way the light reflects off the cold metal.
