Full Armor

Full armor sets within anime apply the most outrageous engineering possible, such as taking the FA-78 Gundam and loading it up with additional thrusters on the shoulders and legs while having a backpack full of beam cannons and missile launchers. The designs keep turning these pilots into walking armories, with purgeable outer layers allowing high-mobility switches during the fight-finding Io Fleming's Thunderbolt beast shrugging off damage before jettisoning the weight. It is the combination of raw power and highly detailed systems-firing-off sub-arms equipped with shields, vulcan guns attached to the helmet, and so on-all done in those sleek metallic finishes that pop off the screen. Other shows follow suit, such as Erza and her reqip armors or the gritty plate from Goblin Slayer; each focuses on bulk that screams unyielding defense.
