Sidelocks

Sidelocks are such an understated yet impactful element in the design of an anime character. These particular hairs on the head, usually around the face and in front of the ears, give the character an extra layer of detail and delicacy in their design. As you can see, they are commonly included in both modern and old anime shows.

The visual style includes crisp lines on the ends of the hairs and soft bokeh effects in the background.
