Scarves are not just for winter in anime. These accessories can actually help define a character’s silhouette, particularly when the wind is blowing or they are wrapped high to hide a blushing face. Note the use of knit textures and deep red or plaid patterns to help ground the character’s design. It is a classic visual approach that adds a sense of mystery or cuteness to the scene.
