Enen no Shouboutai
Enen no Shouboutai takes the idea of fighting fires and turns it into a stunning, bass-heavy show of supernatural combat. Set in a solar-punk Tokyo that is scared of Spontaneous Human Combustion, where people randomly turn into mindless demons called "Infernals," the story follows Shinra Kusakabe, a boy who is called a "devil" because of his nervous, toothy grin and ability to leave explosive footprints. He joins Special Fire Force Company 8, a group of misfits whose job it is to put out Infernals while also secretly looking into the other brigades for corruption. The series has a unique style and a creative power system in which every ability, from plasma swords to thermal expansion, is a different kind of fire. This makes the fight against the flames both a scientific puzzle and a religious crusade.
