Nageki no Bourei wa Intai shitai is a funny movie about a guy who keeps winning at life even though he really wants to quit. Krai Andrey is the leader of the famous "Strange Grief" party, but there's a problem: all of his childhood friends are ridiculously strong monsters in battle, and he can't fight at all. His only goal is to retire in peace before something kills him, but every time he tries to get out of doing his job, people think he's a genius for coming up with a plan. People see calculated brilliance where there is only existential dread. His frantic orders somehow stop the end of the world, his obvious fear comes across as unshakable confidence, and every time he tries to fade into the background, he accidentally makes his legend stronger. It's the ultimate "suffering from success" situation: seeing someone run away from being a hero while the universe works against him to make him look like a tactical genius.
