Overlord

Overlord turns the isekai power fantasy on its head by making the main character not a hero, but the "Final Boss" of a dark fantasy world who is always on edge. The story starts when the DMMORPG Yggdrasil shuts down. Satoru Suzuki, a lonely salaryman, decides to stay logged in until the end. He ends up trapped in the skeletal avatar of his character, Ainz Ooal Gown, and the game's NPCs become sentient and fanatically loyal. The show is known for its unique mix of grimdark conquest and workplace comedy. The main conflict comes from Ainz trying to keep up the appearance of being an all-knowing, god-like ruler to please his terrifyingly competent subordinates, even though he often has no idea what's really going on. It looks at how lonely it is to have absolute power by showing how the "villain" takes over countries just to protect the legacy of his guild.
