Fern is the main human mage and very reliable deuteragonist in the great fantasy series Sousou no Frieren. Heiter, a corrupt priest, took her in, but she later becomes Frieren's most important apprentice. Fern basically becomes the official mother of their adventuring party because Frieren is an ancient elf who does not know how to do basic things. She does everything from waking up her lazy teacher in the morning to keeping an eye on their tight travel budget. It is really amazing to see her change from a quiet war orphan into a very powerful mage who always keeps everyone in line.

Fern really nails the elegant fantasy look when it comes to looks. She has beautiful purple hair that falls to her waist and usually wears a beautiful white dress under a classic black travel coat. She also has a super cute butterfly hair piece after she turns 16. Fans are crazy about her because of her famous gap moe. While on the battlefield, she acts completely stoic and sends Zoltraak at terrifying speeds. But in real life, she gets mad easily and always gives everyone her famous pout. The funny difference between a deadly stoic mage and a teenager who gets mad easily makes her a great waifu. Plus, her surprisingly generous shape always surprises people in the anime community.
