Strike the Blood
Strike the Blood has become well-known in the supernatural harem genre by sticking to a formula and not apologizing for it. We follow Kojou Akatsuki, a high school student who is somehow the world's most powerful vampire even though he would rather not be one, on the fake Itogami Island. We also follow Yukina Himeragi, the spear-wielding monitor who is supposed to watch over him. This deliciously predictable cycle is what makes the show what it is: a big threat shows up, the battle gets worse, Kojou has to drink blood from one of his growing harem to unlock his familiars, and then it starts all over again. The show knows that it's a mix of shameless fan service and flashy supernatural fights. There were famous phrases that came out of it, like "No Senpai, this is our fight!" that became memes in their own right. It's just entertainment that makes you feel awful, with a focus on spectacle and sticking to what works instead of trying to be gritty and complicated.
