Amagi Brilliant Park
Amagi Brilliant Park is a workplace comedy that brilliantly turns a fantasy quest into a desperate race to meet quarterly business goals. Seiya Kanie, a self-centered genius, is forced at gunpoint by the stoic Isuzu Sento to go to a rundown amusement park. There, Princess Latifa Fleuranza drops the bombshell: he has three months to get 500,000 guests to come or the park will close for good. What's the catch? The people who work at the park are actually refugees from the magical world of Maple Land. They live on "Animus," which is energy that comes from guests having fun. If the park closes, they will literally die. The show is great because it has a funny premise and a serious reality. For example, instead of casting spells, Seiya has to deal with budget cuts, broken drainage systems that flood the park, and mascots who are rude, cynical delinquents with serious attitude problems. The series shows that you need less spellcasting and more good middle management skills to save a magical kingdom.
